In this paper, a real-time deadtime control method is proposed based on optimized switching time delay calculations, considering the dynamic characteristics of the battery formation system. The proposed technique reduces reverse conduction loss by controlling the deadtime during dynamic transitions between charging and discharging operations in both directions. Experimental verification demonstrated an average efficiency improvement of 0.87% in a 5V/100A battery formation device and a significant temperature reduction of up to 11.5°C in the synchronous switch, thereby enhancing overall system performance in charging mode operation. © 2025 IEEE.
