Automotive Over-the-Air (OTA) reprogramming is exposed to the risk of unpredictable interruptions, yet conventional diagnostics based on Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are inadequate for detailed cause analysis. Furthermore, the reactive approach of logging after a failure introduces additional risks during system instability. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes a transaction-based logging architecture that pre-emptively records the work intent to Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) before executing a risky operation. The proposed method enables reliable diagnostics by accurately identifying the point of failure through the incomplete log upon reboot, even if a critical failure like a power loss occurs.
