Prior piezoelectric rectifiers largely adopt full bridge rectifier (FBR) at very low frequencies or active/PSSHI-type schemes at above 100 Hz, typically reporting 75 to 85 % peak efficiency and assuming steadier inputs. Proposed dual mode piezoelectric rectifier (DMPR) target the 5 - 10 Hz motion band with variable amplitudes and present a POR-assisted dual-mode rectifier that starts as an FBR at small inputs and operates a efficient active-diode path once sufficient headroom is available. A 130-nm CMOS implementation achieves ~ 92 % peak efficiency Compared with prior works [1]-[5], proposed architecture raises peak efficiency in the 5 - 10 Hz input frequency range while reducing sensitivity to varying input and load conditions.
