This paper is part of a comprehensive study aimed at compiling and organizing books that were transmitted from Korea to China during the traditional period. The Dongguoshilüe(≪東國史略≫) compiled during the Joseon Dynasty was brought into China by Ming generals dispatched to Joseon during the Imjin War. The book collector Zhaoqimei(趙琦美) was the first to transcribe the Dongguoshilüe, and during the Wanli(萬曆) era, several scholars collated the text and published it under the new title Chaoxianshilüe(≪朝鮮史略≫). Subsequently, both Dongguoshilüe and Chaoxianshilüe circulated in six-and twelve-volume editions, both in printed and manuscript forms. The colophon(題記) found in Bibliographical records(藏書志) serve as empirical sources for understanding the scale and circumstances of the book’s distribution. Accordingly, this paper provides annotated translations of the prefaces to the Dongguoshilüe found in Qing dynasty Bibliographical records. As a result, it has been confirmed that prominent scholars, book collectors, and literati of the Ming and Qing periods possessed, read, collated, and transcribed the Dongguoshilüe.
