This work focuses on analyzing the containment control problem for PDE-type fuzzy multi-agent systems (MASs). The primary goal of this paper is to design an event-triggered controller aimed to diminish the network burden while achieving the containment control of the analyzed PDE-type fuzzy MASs. Initially, the containment error system is formulated for the considered MASs by using dynamics of the leaders and followers. By using a suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, the sufficient conditions for the stabilization of the designed containment error system are derived. In particular, these sufficient conditions are derived as linear matrix inequalities. At last, simulation examples are offered to verify the obtained theoretical results. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.
