초록

This study examines the connection between Yoon Haeng-im's thought and his political activities. Yoon regarded Bo Yi(伯夷) as a symbol of loyalty that upheld Jing dao(經道) and Junchen zhi yi(君臣之義), and he further strengthened this perspective through his theory of Bo Yi(伯夷論). These aspects formed the foundation of his loyalty to King Jeongjo(正祖). In his argument of the difference between human nature and animal nature(人物性異論), Yoon followed the position of Ho school(湖論), yet he also argued that the Zhonghua(中華) and the barbarian(夷狄) shared the same innate nature, differing only in Qizhi(基質). This perspective led him to evaluate positively even those of babarian and low social status if they did ethical acts such as loyalty, filial duty, and loyalty to the Ming(明) dynasty. Such aspects are reflected in his works. Yoon's ideological aspect that emphasis on the equality of human nature and edification also influenced his political activities.
