This paper presents a DDS-based gateway system implemented on a 1/5-scale zonal autonomous vehicle for multi-camera video stream data fusion and processing. The proposed gateway addresses the challenge of high-bandwidth data transmission in a zonal architecture by efficiently routing video streams from resource-constrained edge nodes to a central high-performance computer (HPC). Each zonal gateway receives JPEG-compressed video via UDP from a camera module and leverages specific DDS Quality of Service (QoS) policies to republish the data, ensuring low latency for real-time applications. To validate the system's performance, we conducted comprehensive experimental analysis, measuring end-to-end latency from camera capture to HPC reception. This explores the communication delays that can occur in a zonal architecture during DDS-based communication.
