초록

Novice investors rely on online information when making stock investment decisions. However, they are often unaware of whether the evidence they have collected is sufficiently comprehensive to justify their decisions, resulting in investments grounded in incomplete evidence. This can lead to unprofitable investments and hinder financial literacy. To address this challenge, we propose an Evidence Coverage Matrix (ECM) that visualizes how well the collected evidence covers the key information required to evaluate whether a stock is worth investing in. The matrix highlights uncovered areas of the information space, enabling users to reflect on how informed their decisions are and motivating them to seek missing information. Our user study with 10 participants demonstrates that the Coverage Matrix encourages users to collect additional evidence while improving self-reflection and motivation to fill missing information. Based on our findings, we discuss design implications for future systems that support information collection and organization in decision-making.
