초록

Migrant care workers from China are employed to care for older adults in adjacent South Korea. They are generally regarded as temporary workers who lack expertise in caring for older adults. However, understanding of their experiences is limited. In this qualitative descriptive study, we explored the experiences of 10 migrant care workers in South Korea through in-depth interviews. The findings revealed four themes: psychological rewards, professional recognition, duality of instrumental benefits, and lack of training systems tailored to migrant care workers. Furthermore, the study found that national long-term care licenced career pathways enhanced professionalism, contributing to reduced discrimination against migrant care workers.
