초록
‘The Liji(Book of Rites)’ is a key Confucian text in ritual studies. Among its contents are six chapters ending in Yi(義), such as <Guanyi>, which interpret and simplify ceremonies from ‘the Yili’ while offering philosophical reflections on ritual meaning, indicating potential for ritual adaptation. This paper focuses on <Guanyi> to explore its ritual thought and contemporary relevance. Through a comparative analysis with the Shiguanli in ‘the Yili’, the study examines structural and conceptual continuities and transformations. Additionally, it employs generative AI(ChatGPT) to simulate a modern version of the capping ceremony based on <Guanyi>, assessing the feasibility of creating contemporary rituals from classical texts. This approach, rarely seen in current ritual studies, aims to contribute to the modernization of Confucian ceremonial practice by offering new perspectives and methods.
