Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the mental health management factors that older adults perceive as essential and to identify practical management factors that contribute to the promotion of mental health among older adults. Method: This study was conducted with a total of 180 older adults aged 70 years and older, including 30 participants who participated in in-depth interviews and 150 participants who completed an openended questionnaires. Following the acquisition of informed consent, all interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and documented. The collected data were subsequently reclassified using an inductive categorization process. Results: Analysis identified a total of 656 raw data units, which were integrated into nine subdomains. These subdomains were further abstracted into three overarching domains: personal, social, and environmental factors. The personal factors domain comprised three subdomains: psychological and spiritual resources, physical and daily life resources, and health perception. The social factors domain encompassed family and interpersonal relationships, community participation and roles, and perceived social connectedness. Finally, the environmental factors domain consisted of institutional and welfare environments, medical and social awareness environments, and digital and information environments. Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that mental health management among older adults has a multidimensional structure in which personal, social, and environmental factors interact. The results highlight the necessity of developing integrated mental health management strategies that accurately reflect the real-life contexts of older adults.
